GRF Minister Grants

In partnership with Church Benefits Board (CBB), CBF Great Rivers Fellowship (GRF) offers two grants: new minister grants and faithful servants grants for ministers at partner congregations within the GRF region. As a demonstration of GRF and CBB’s commitment to serve both ministers and congregations, both grants are offered in full collaboration with and through the congregation.

The first grant CBF Great Rivers Fellowship offers is our New to GRF Minister Grant. Our goal is to assist new ministers with financial wellness resources and incentives early in their career as well as encourage congregations to consider the retirement needs of ministers.

The second grant CBF Great Rivers Fellowship offers is our Faithful Servant Grant. Our goal is to collaborate with our partner congregations to support and affirm minister sabbatical leave as an important and appropriate step to provide their faithful ministers with a time of professional development, personal and spiritual renewal, rest and revisioning.

CBF Great Rivers Fellowship is available to consult with the congregation to establish a sabbatical policy including setting up policies and budgets for accountable reimbursement plans for expenses, as well as providing information on possible pulpit supply preachers and any resources that might be helpful during the sabbatical. GRF is also available to the minister to facilitate meaningful sabbatical experiences and to be a support as the minister returns to ministry.
